David E. Jerome, Esq.

David E. Jerome is a lifetime resident of Northville, Michigan.  He was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1973.  His education includes the College of Wooster (B.A., 1968) and the University of Michigan (J.D., 1973).  David is admitted to practice in all Michigan federal and state courts.

In 1982 David started his own law firm on Center Street.  It has transitioned through several names including Jerome & Samhat, Jerome & Austin and now Jerome & McLean.  Dave has been involved in labor and employment law, working with management.  He has been involved in negotiating the National Teamsters Contracts and served on many National Teamster Grievance Panels on behalf of management.  While the involvement with the Teamsters has diminished, he continues to counsel and litigate employment matters, including wrongful terminations, wage claims, and claims filed with government agencies.  Dave’s involvement in the labor field has led to representing small corporations in any and everything they do from entity formation, to dissolution.  From employment contract, non-disclosure agreements, confidentiality agreements, and collection matters.  Dave has been involved in handling almost anything a small corporation would do.  The firm has represented corporations with annual revenues of less than $100 thousand and more than $100 million.

David practices regularly before the Michigan Public Service Commission and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, representing trucking companies in their applications for authority and in matters dealing with the oversights by these organizations and the changes in the law as they relate to the trucking industry.

One of David’s loves is the towing industry.  In 1979, he was elected as the Executive Secretary of the Michigan Towing Association and continues to serve as its counsel and Executive Secretary.

David is a member of the Michigan Bar Association, Northville Rotary Club, and the Transportation Lawyers Association.  He is the Immediate Past President of the National Amateur Baseball Federation and for more than 30 years, has been the Executive Secretary for the Michigan Towing Association, the oldest towing association in the United States, since 1979.  When not practicing law, David coaches softball in the community.  He was elected as Northville’s Citizen of the Year.

Dave is married to Kathi who likewise is active in the Northville community.  Their son Jim is active in the entertainment industry in Southern California and Leah, their adopted Korean child, is in the retail industry.
